Rebekah Blocher & Heart of the Bride
(images by Spindle Photography, design belongs to Rebekah Blocher)
In just a few short days a phone call and a few emails turned into this lux jewelry shoot that I’m really in love with! Rebekah Blocher, a local jewelry designer, needed some images of her pieces to use in her marketing materials for Market in Atlanta this weekend, (Booth #821 Handmade if you happen to be headed that way), and I was more than happy to help! Faith Gibson of Back to Africa – Heart of the Bride (a ministry that helps provide jobs for impoverished women in Africa through jewelry making) brought some of their designs as well, lovely multicolored necklaces and bracelets with beads made from rolled strips of magazine papers and ceramic pieces throughout.
As you can imagine, I’m a highly visual person, and it drives me crazy when I go to a clothing website and they don’t have an image of someone wearing the clothes. I want to see the fit, whole outfits and accessories, and I want to know that I could potentially find something to wear with the skirt, shirt, or pants that I’m lusting after. So, I love that these images really do convey how the jewelry can fit into a modern wardrobe; the pieces work really well with the artistic sophisticate look that anthropologie has made so popular (and for good reason!).
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the shoot (and to Urban Standard for not kicking us out and What’s on Second for letting us in), to Katie Johnston and Morgan Trinker for being amazing models last minute and to Rebekah and Faith for the opportunity!
